July 12, 2001 Looking for summer fun - How about Rugby Camp? Here
in the states summer is finally upon us and our regular tournament
schedule is on hiatus. While it may seem that nothing is going on rugby wise, that’s not the case. There are many teams and athletes who are practicing through the summer, while others get together for a recreational chair banging every few weeks. Most players just can’t go for long periods without needing to hop in a rugby chair and getting rid of some of that pent up energy and aggression. I think we've all had that urge at one time or another. Those of you who are looking for summer rugby activities take note. There are several open events over the upcoming months that you might consider. I’ve listed a brief description of some of them below, and posted additional information on the Rugby Calendar. 9th
Annual Summer Blast Held on August 4th and 5th in Oceanside California, this is one of the funnest two-days of rugby around. Open to the first fifty players, teams are selected on the fly and can be made up of 4, 8, 9 and 10-point lineups. The gym is located right on the beach, which adds to the enjoyment of this annual event. Contact Bob Martinson at (760) 439-9357 for more details. USQRA
