HPTP Tryouts Update

The USQRA is keeping busy this summer trying to get organized for its new High Performance Training Program (HPTP). Interviews are currently being conducted with assistant coach applicants, and will be followed by the selection of athletes who will be invited to attend tryouts. USQRA Introduces High Performance Competition ProgramHere are answers to a few of the most common questions.

When will I know?
Athletes who are invited to tryout for the HPTP will be notified sometime in early August of their status. Those people who applied for trainer, nurse and equipment manager positions will be contacted shortly after the athletes have been notified.
If you have questions you can send email to jbishop@quadrugby.com

When are tryouts?
The dates for tryouts are confirmed for September 27-30th at the United States Olympic Committee Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Athletes and staff will be required to get to Colorado Springs at their own expense. The cost for meals and accommodations will hopefully be waived for all attendees.

Was I even considered?
Coaches and RAC's were contacted and asked to make recommendations of athletes to the HPTP coaching staff. Rosters from all teams were also reviewed so that consideration was given to all players. If your not sure your were considered and you wanted to be, you can contact your coach or RAC.

How can I learn more about this?
There is a press release available on the Sports Page, or you can send email to jbishop@quadrugby.com if you have questions.
