Quadrugby.com turns Five

In November of this year quadrugby.com will celebrate its 5^th Anniversary of being on the Internet. When we first began back in 1996 we were the only website available dedicated solely to the sport of Wheelchair Rugby. Today if you search the web for Quad Rugby or Wheelchair Rugby you will find dozens of web sites around the world sharing the excitement of our great sport. We are proud to have had a little part in inspiring others to get their teams and organizations presence onto the web… The more people that know about this sport the better it is for everyone, especially those who want to play. Register Today!

While the past five-years hasn't always been easy, it has been fun and rewarding. Despite having many nights burn away as updates were made, the emails and comments that came in from those who visited our site always made the sacrifices worthwhile. Many new friends from around the world have been made, and a better understanding to the excitement of disabled sports has been shared with thousands of people who never knew we previously existed. These are all cool things.

The goal of quadrugby.com has always been the same. We strive to bring you as much news and information as possible about our sport. While we are located in the United States, we have always been open to international coverage as well. There are dozens of areas to browse through here, leading us to believe that we could very well be the largest publicly available archive of quad rugby information on the planet. This wasn’t planned, it just kind of happened that way.

Our Rugby Calendar provides constantly updated tournament information and playing schedules, while the Score Board provides you with the final results. As a matter of fact, you can easily find tournament results all the way back to 1996. If you ever want to roll down memory lane this is a great spot to begin. If its stories you’re after then the Sports Page is where you need to be. For those of you that are more visual, we offer the Photo Album. There are hundreds of pictures available, some better than others, but all reflective of the camrodity found in the sport.

One of our most popular areas over the years has been Rugby Talk. We have gone through many public boards that have long since closed, but now have a permanent board online. The old messages unfortunately are gone, but if you take a moment now to post a comment we can begin the fun all over again. Although you need to register to post a message now, you can always make up a name if your not comfortable using your own. The only thing that we ask is that you try and make constructive comments as the world is watching.

As previously mentioned, there is much to be found here at quadrugby.com. If you’re new to this site the best thing to do is start on the Home Page and click the links in the blue column on the left or those found on the menu bar at the top of each page. Whether your looking for a team to join or information about classification it is all here. Those who are regular visitors should take another look around. There is bound to be something that you haven’t seen yet. If you need some help finding something drop an email to jbishop@quadrugby.com and we will get right back to you.

As we enter into our sixth year of service, the ritual of adding new information and schedules has already begun. We hope to rebuild some of the areas that have been neglected and add some new features that are long overdue over the next year. Hopefully this site has been beneficial to you in the past, and will continue to be for years to come. You can show your appreciation by submitting your schedules and results to us as they come in, as well as by writing a brief story or two on your events. This is your site and we rely on those who visit it to keep the content current.
