2002 Beast of the East

The 2002 Beast of the East Quad Rugby tournament will be held October 18-20, 2002 at Girard College in Philadelphia. Please consider this as an official invitation to your team. With this new venue, we will be able to expand this year's tournament to an eight team, two pool format on two gyms. All teams will play five games. Friday's first game will start at 3:00 p.m.

The tournament fee will be $250.00 per team, which covers rostering, entry, lunches and t-shirts for up to ten players and staff. Additional players and staff may be rostered for $25.00 each. Because of difficulties in arranging transportation for flying teams, we ask that they pay $100 towards the overtime costs associated with transportation.

Rosters should include names of all players and staff, classifications, sponsor names, jersey numbers and official team colors. If you include a team photograph, we will include it in the program. Please forward rosters and your entry fee to Pat by September 19, 2002.

The official hotel for this year's Beast will be the Hampton Inn in Center City at 1301 Race St. Rooms are $99/night and include a deluxe continental breakfast. This is a new hotel and the block includes several rooms with roll-in showers. To book, call 267-765-1111, ask for Lauren, and say you are with the Beast of the East.

IMPORTANT!!! There is a major dietician convention in Philadelphia on Beast weekend. Rooms in the city are scarce. This block will be opened to the public on Sept 27 and the rate will revert to $159/night.
