USQRA Heartland Sectional Playoffs
March 21-23, 2003 - Carbondale, Illinois

The St. Louis Rugby Rams and the Pittsburgh Steelwheelers would like to invite you to Carbondale, Illinois for the 2003 USQRA Heartland Sectional. Listed below is all the information you will need.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
The Heartland Sectional consists of 8 teams: Pittsburgh Steelwheelers, Jackson Jags, Chicago Bears, Milwaukee Iron, Minnesota Ice, St. Louis Rams, Kentucky TNT and Lakeshore Demolition.

This will be a two-pool tournament. The pools will be assigned when the USQRA seeding are decided. A schedule will be posted and forwarded to your team rep as soon as it is approved by the USQRA.

GYM:
The tournament will take place at Southern Illinois University (SIU) Carbondale. The gym is a two-court facility; we will be using both courts simultaneously. MEALS:
Breakfast and lunch will be served at the gym Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Meals will be provided for all registered athletes, coaches and support staff.

CLASSIFICATION:
There will be a classification panel available at this tournament.

HOTEL INFORMATION
Carbondale is a small community; each team will be staying in separate hotels. I have specifically blocked rooms at some hotels in Carbondale and in Marion, which is about 13 miles away and has much better and newer hotels. I will also provide the phone numbers for the hotels in Carbondale which we did not deal with so you may contact them directly if you wish.

Carbondale Hotels:
Ramada Limited - 618-351-6611: Blocked approximately 35 (4 w/c + 31 reg) rooms under USQRA, Group code CGUSQR. Rooms are 55/night Thurs and 65/Night Fri and Sat. Cont break/ind pool. Regular rooms have same size doors as W/C access rooms. Will hold rooms until 3/15/03.

Comfort Suites: 618-997-9133: Blocked 23 (3 w/c + 20 reg) rooms under USQRA. 55/night. Regular rooms have main door widths of 34" and bathroom doors of 27". Rooms have fridge/coffee/whirlpool bath/ind pool and micro and cont breakfast. Holding room until 3/2/03.

Drury Inn: 618-997-9600: Blocked 21 (6w/c + 15 reg) rooms under USQRA. 64.99/night. Cont breakfast. Holding rooms until 3/6/03.

Holiday Inn Express: 618-998-1220: Blocked 15 (5w/c + 10 reg) rooms under USQRA at 66.73/night. Reg rooms have door widths of 34" main and 26 1/2" bath. Cont breakfast/indoor pool/fridge/coffee maker. Holding until 3/5/03.

Please make your reservations soon as some of the hotels are only holding rooms for a week.
