USQRA Mountain Sectional
March 14-16, 2003
Austin, Texas
The Texas Stampede would like to invite
you to Austin, Texas for the 2003 Mountain Sectional. Listed below is all
of the information you will need. If you have any questions you can
contact Kelly at
yhettie@earthlink.net
Tournament Format:
The Mountain Section consists of 8 teams: Texas Stampede, North Texas
Nightmare, Pasadena Texans, San Antonio Ruff Ryders, Phoenix Heat,
University of Arizona Wild Chairs, Denver Harlequins, Utah Extreme
The Extreme and North Texas Nightmare will not be attending the
sectional, so we will only have 6 teams. The tournament will be a
round-robin format and seedings will be assigned by the USQRA. A schedule
will be posted and forwarded to your team rep as soon as it is approved. Games will begin at 9:00 am Friday morning. If your team is
flying i please plan to arrive Thursday afternoon/evening. Games should be
completed by 3 pm Sunday.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation will be provided to/from the airport on Thursday and Sunday
as well as to/from gym for the teams who are flying to Austin. A
transportation request will be sent to your team rep this week. Austin
Bergstrom Airport is approximately 30-45 minutes from the gym depending on
traffic, so please plan your departure flights accordingly so we will have
enough time to get you and your equipment to the airport. A truck will
pick-up the equipment at the airport and take it directly to the gym on
Thursday. For those driving, a map to the gym and hotel will be forwarded
to your team rep. If you are driving, please plan to take your equipment
to the gym on Friday morning.
GYM
The tournament will take place at Canyon Vista Middle School. The gym is
2-court facility, but we will only be using one court as a game court. The
other court will be used for warm up and equipment storage. Please note
that because it is a middle school facility, the court is a shorter court
(84 feet) and the basketball goals are stationary on the baseline.
MEALS
Breakfast and lunch will be served at the gym Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday. Meals will be provided for all registered athletes, coaches, and
support staff.
CLASSIFICATION
There will be a classification panel at the tournament. A list of players
up for classification will be forwarded to your team rep when it is
available. The classifiers plan to start looking at players on Thursday
afternoon at the hotel.
