with the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games Qualification Guide, the following
countries have qualified for the Wheelchair Rugby Competition at the 2004
Athens Paralympic Games:
Previous World Champions: CANADA

Zone 1: UNITED STATES
Zone 2: GREAT BRITAIN
Zone 2: BELGIUM
Zone 3: AUSTRALIA
Wild Card 1: NEW ZEALAND

Canada has qualified directly based on the results of the 2002 Wheelchair
Rugby World Championships. All other countries have qualified based on their
positions on the IWRF World Ranking List dated 15 September 2003.
ISMWSF-ISOD will officially notify the National Paralympic Committees of the
qualified countries that they have qualified for the competition. These
countries have until 2 April 2004 to confirm that they will use their
qualified spots. If a country declines its qualified spot, a reallocation
will be made based on the IWRF World Ranking List dated 15 September 2003.
This reallocation will take place no later than 23 April 2004.
Congratulations to all the qualified countries. Your hard work and
dedication to the sport of wheelchair rugby have been rewarded, and I wish
you all the best of luck in the competition.
I look forward to seeing you in Athens. If there are any questions regarding
the qualification process or the determination of qualified countries,
please do not hesitate to contact me. Note that questions relating to
registration for the Games, accreditation, and other administrative matters
should be addressed to your National Paralympic Committee.
Best regards,
