USQRA Athlete of the Year Named

The USQRA's 2003-2004 Athlete of the Year Award was presented at this year Division I-II National’s in Louisville, KY.  This year’s recipient was 3.0, Mark Zupan from the Texas Stampede.

Zupan, who began his career in Georgia, has been part of numerous USA teams. He has logged over 30 games of competition at the international level.  His elusiveness and strength carried him, and many of the teams he has played for to top finishes and accolades.

Zupan trains daily, and prides himself on his strength and leadership ability. During the last 12 months Mark led his club team throughout the year, earning himself 4 MVP’s and 1 Best in Class. Highlighting his year was being named MVP at this years Nationals and winning the DI National Championship with the Stampede.  His year was further accentuated by being selected to TEAM USA Paralympic Rugby and earning the privilege of representing the US this summer in Athens at the 2004 Paralympics.
