USA Rugby Settles into Village

It's Thursday night in the Paralympic Village and electricity is in the air. Twenty-four hours from now opening ceremonies will be under way, and come Saturday morning, the first competitions of the 2004 Paralympics will be underway. With over 6,000 athletes and officials residing in Click for larger picture.the village, the opportunity to meet new friends from every niche' on the globe is endless. Pin trading is an ongoing competition all to itself, and several members of USA Rugby are leading the chase...

This first week has been somewhat hectic with daily training sessions, but the team is in great spirits and ready to get to work. Today we trained at the official venue with Great Britain, and found it to be an impressive stadium. For those coming to see us in person, you are in for a treat as Greece is working hard to do everything here right. USA faces Japan on Sunday afternoon and we will post scores and a story as soon as possible after the game. Athens is 7 hours ahead of New York, so hopefully you will have some good news to read with your morning coffee.

Thanks from the team for all you comments in the guest book. The photo above was taken in front of the USA Rugby residence in the village. We will try to get more photos up as time allows!! Go USA!
