1997 Veterans Wheelchair Games Set More than 600 veterans from across the nation, Puerto Rico and Great Britain are expected to be in San Diego July 5-10 to compete in the largest annual wheelchair sporting event in the nation ... the 17th National Veterans Wheelchair Games. The event is co-presented by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) and is open to all U.S. military veterans who use wheelchairs due to spinal cord injury, certain neurological conditions, amputations or other mobility impairments.
