7th Annual Knock & Roll Wheelchair Rugby Tournament

Dear Team Representative,

The South Florida Rattlers and Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation's Therapeutic Recreation Section would like to invite you to the 7th Annual "Knock & Roll" Wheelchair Rugby Tournament. This year’s tournament will be held at our brand new gymnasium in beautiful Lake Worth, Florida.

In order to find out the number of teams interested in participating this year, teams are encouraged to email SStaebel@pbcgov.com to reserve a spot without commitment between now and September 29th. Official registration will begin October 2nd. At that time all interested teams will be contacted for a formal commitment to attend the tournament.

Payments or arrangements for payment will be accepted between October 2nd and November 10th. If payments are not received by this time your spot will be given to another team.

Registration Fee:
$400 per team. This fee will cover up to 10 players (additional team players are $25 each).

Rooms have been reserved under the name of Wheelchair Rugby Tournament. Please mention the group name and ask for the Special Rate of $119.00 per night, plus tax. Reservations MUST be made by December 11th, 2006 to guarantee the rate and space.

Flight Arrivals:
Palm Beach International Airport is your destination. Teams must arrive as a group no later than 10 PM on Thursday, January 12th to guarantee transportation to the hotel via the tournament bus. We will try to meet those arriving separately, but make no promises. Please make your travel plans within the specified time frame including allowance for potential delays related to weather, security and/or air traffic.

Flight Departures:
Airport transportation will be provided on Sunday January 14th. The tournament will end between 2-3pm. Airport transfers will be available from the gym starting at noon on Sunday. Those staying in Florida longer will be returned to the Hotel.

Playing Site:
Competition will take place at the brand new Therapeutic Recreation Complex in Lake Worth. The gym is air-conditioned and has a single full size sport court. Overnight storage for playing chairs is available in the gym at your own risk.

Ground Transportation:
Daily transportation to the gym will be provided from the Holiday Inn
 
Additional Information:
Tournament Start Time: 11:00 AM on Friday January 12th, 2007 (Transfers begin at 9:00a.m). Play and Awards Ceremonies should conclude by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Please schedule your departure accordingly. The tournament schedule will be posted on the web and emailed to all team representatives as soon as it is available. USQRA rules apply. Lunch and dinner will be provided at the gym daily for players, coaches and support staff only. A coaches meeting will be held Thursday evening at the host hotel if necessary.
